Rutherglen & District Garden Club
Welcome to our club
The origin of the Rutherglen and District Garden Club goes back to 1958, when the wife of the local newsagent, Mrs Keam, organised a public meeting to consider the formation of a horticultural society.
Since then the club has evolved and now aims to:
Promote interest in horticulture, home and public gardens in the Rutherglen & Corowa districts.
Educate the public in the Rutherglen & Corowa districts, by holding garden competitions, flower shows, workshops and excursions.
Visit noteworthy gardens and nurseries locally and interstate.
Why our members love the club
“I love garden club because we get to discuss what grows well in the dry Rutherglen climate”
"A great way to get to know and learn from folk who enjoy gardening"
"I have felt very welcomed and have learnt heaps from other members"
"Great guest speakers and great social night"

Become a member
Our club runs successfully as a result of the community effort of all its members. We have a supper and chat session at the end of the formal component of the evening and all members are asked to bring a plate of sweet or savory nibbles to each meeting.
